Elaborate arrangements for President's visit in MP
Bhopal, July 16 (UNI) Elaborate arrangements have been made in view of President A P J Abdul Kalam's proposed one-day visit to Madhya Pradesh tomorrow.
Dr Kalam will address legislators of Madhya Pradesh tomorrow on the opening day of the monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly celebrating its golden jubilee.
This would be the first time in the history of MP assembly when the President would address the House.
After arriving here by a special aircraft at around 1025 hrs, Dr Kalam will take brief rest for five minutes and reach the Vidhan Sabha at 1045 hrs.
He would be welcomed by Speaker Ishwardas Rohani, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Opposition Leader Jamuna Devi and Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Hazarilal Raghuvanshi and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra.
He will take part in the rendition of national anthem at 1050 hrs. The Speaker would then introduce the President to party leaders, while Mr Chouhan and Ms Devi would read out the welcome address.
Governor Balram Jakhar would request Dr Kalam to address the legislators at 1105 hrs. After the President's one-hour-long address, Mr Rohani would present him momento. Mr Mishra would give the vote of thanks.
Later, he will plant a sapling at Vidhan Sabha premises.
He will then leave here for Indore, from where he will go to tribal village Hatyadeli in Jhabua district from helicopter to interact with tribal children besides seeing development works and cultivation of jatropha.
From Indore, he will leave for Mumbai, the sources added.
There will be a total of 10 sittings in the monsoon session, which will conclude on July 28.
