De-militarisation of J
Srinagar, July 16 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and Jammu and Kashmir minister for Transport Mangat Ram Sharma said the demand of de- militarisation of the state was irrelevant.
Addressing a day-long convention of Congress Seva Dal here today, he said the demand of de-militarisation of the state by some leaders, is not conducive and such demands were quite relevant.
He asked the workers to work for the unity, integrity and solidarity of the state and continue to fight against the forces bent upon to disturbing the centuries old secular fabric of the state.
Lauding the selfless services rendered by the Seva Dal volunteers during the earthquake, the Minister said that these services were acknowledged by everyone.
He said congress Seva Dal is a disciplined force and their prime duty is to extend their service to the needy, poor and downtrodden sections of the society and work for their uplift.
He said the organisation has to play a major role to carry forward the message of unity, integrity and solidarity of the state and development for all irrespective of caste, creed, region and religion.
He said in Jammu and Kashmir, Seva Dal has a major task to carry forward the message of equal and balanced development for all the three regions and there will be no compromise in dealing with anti-national and anti-social elements.
