Congress demands CBI inquiry into land scam

Patna, Jul 16 (UNI) Bihar Congress today demanded CBI inquiry into the alleged land scam in which the state government had allotted precious land of Patna and other cities of the state to noted filmmaker Prakash Jha at throwaway prices.

Chief spokesman of the state Congress Prem Chandra Mishra told UNI that he would file a public interest petition in Patna High Court, seeking CBI inquiry into the scam if the state government did not scrap the deal within 24 hours.

He said allotment of land to the film producer in Patna Industrial Area without inviting bidding through open tenders was violation of the established rules and regulations.

Mr Mishra alleged that the deal was finalised to favour Mr Jha, who had campaigned in favour of the JD(U) during the last Assembly elections in Bihar.
