Combing operations in city and Thane district

Mumbai, July 16 (UNI) The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) along with crime branch sleuths of Mumbai police probing into the serial train bomb blasts, continued combing operations in the city and adjoining Thane district.

The investigation team has questioned over 300 persons in this regard. However, no arrests have been made so far, a police officer said here today.

A police team conducted combing operations at several places in Thane district like Mumbra and others on Friday last.

Personnel from the National Security Guards's Bomb Data Centre are assisting the ATS to determine whether the explosives used were RDX, Joint Commissioner of Police (ATS) K P Raghuvanshi had said.

Some youth from Maharashtra had been arrested in Tripura while trying to cross the Bangladesh border and the Mumbai Police are trying to bring them here, Mr Raghuvanshi added.
