CM's call to Badaga community

Chennai, July 16 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today called upon the Badaga community of Nilgiris District to remain united and contribute to the progress of the Tamil community.

Addressing about 600 Badagas who called on the Chief Minister to thank him for making Mr K K S S R Ramachandran of their community as a Minister, Mr Karunanidhi said leaders of Dravidian Movement under 'Anna' and 'Periyar' worked for achieving social equality.

As a result, people like Mr Ramachandran could occupy high positions. He thanked the community members for understanding the work of the Dravidian movement in achieving equality and for reposing faith in its intentions to work for societal uplift, a party release here this evening said.
