Cmde. Ashokan takes over as DG, Naval Academy Project

Kochi, Jul 16 (UNI) Commodore T K Ashokan has taken over as the Director General (DG) of the Naval Academy (NAVAC) Project from Commodore Arun Nayyar.

Commodore Ashokan is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakvasla, and Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington. Having specialised in Hydrography, he has held various important appointments both ashore and afloat, an official release said here today.

Commodore Ashokan has commanded Indian Naval Ships Sarvekshak, Sandhayak and Nirupak and served as Group Commander Ernakulam NCC group and Commander, Project Seabird, Karwar. He is a recipient of the Nao Sena Medal for devotion to duty, it added.
