APCC constitutes six-member committee for post-poll review

Hyderabad, July 16 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has decided to constitute a six-member committee to review the party's performance in the just concluded civic polls and to suggest measures to strengthen it from the grass-root level.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, party headquarters here today APCC president K Keshava Rao said the convenor and the other members of the committee would be announced soon.

The Committee would submit its report within three months.

It would visit all the districts and interact with MLAs, district leaders and party workers to assess the party's performance and identify areas where corrective measures were required, he said.

Stating the party would also look into the aspects of alliance with other parties in future Mr Rao said the rapport with the Telengana Rastriya Samithi (TRS) would continue.

He said ''though the party had fared well throughout the state, there weas no room for complacency and the committee would evolve measures to empower it.

The committee would also study the implementation of government welfare programmes to suggest measures to correct lapses if any, he said.

Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, Ministers and other senior leaders attended the APCC meeting.
