ACTA to launch agitation on Govt funds issue
Vijayawada, July 16 (UNI) The Affiliated College Teachers Association (ACTA) today warne that it would launch a series of agitations until the government restores the funds allotted to the aided colleges in the state.
The state government took the decision to stop the funds on the pretext of the student strength coming down drastically every year, ACTA President Satyanarayana said.
He said the government's decision was 'painful' and 'unfortunate' as most of the students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and economically Backward Classes (BCs) were studying in the aided colleges unable to bear the higher fee structure in corporate colleges.
The government's decision was causing lot of hardship, he said and urged the government to rollback its decision keeping in mind the interests of these students.
