AASU demands tough stand on fundamental organisation

Guwahati, July 16 (UNI) The All Asom Students Union (AASU) has demanded stern action against the Muslim fundamentalist organisations spreading terror networks in Asom.

In a statement the AASU warned the state government that if proper action was not taken in advance there could be trouble later.

The AASU said for more than decade and half, there were at least dozen fundamentalist organizations had been working and the intelligence agencies were aware of their presence.

'' They have sophisticated arms also and 14 such organizations have been conducting anti-national subversive activities at the behest of the ISI. These orgsniations took active part in the just concluded election and the AASU has evidence about their involvement with the Kashmiri militants, '' the statement said.

The AASU regretted that no political parties had taken the issue seriously but it has taken a gigantic proportion behind the back of every political parties who are out to protect the minority vote base.
