Yatra suspended for fourth consecutive day

Jammu, July 15: No fresh batch of pilgrims left here for the holy cave of Amarnath for darshan as the yatra remained suspended for the fourth consecutive day due to inclement weather along the route of base camps.

Meanwhile the number of pilgrims visiting the holy cave at Amarnath have reached 2,09,956 for a darshan of the ice lingam, Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) sources said here today.

Talking to UNI over phone official sources said a ''total 2,09,956 devotees have left for Amarnath through Baltal and Pahalgam base camps till today.'' The fresh batches of 7,713 yatris left for Amarnath shrine this morning, the sources said. A total of 4,020 from Pahalgam and 3,693 from Baltal base camps have departed for Amarnath.
