Two CPI Maoists surrender before SP

Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, July 15 (UNI) Two naxals of the CPI (Maoist) surrendered before the Prakasam District Superintendent of Police at his camp office here today.

At a press meet here, DSP N Balasubrahmanyam said Kerthipati Rambabu and Puligujju Danamaiah alias Kiran surrendered before him.

Appealing to the Maoist leaders to join the mainstream, the SP assured them that those who surrender would not face any harm or any sort of harassments.

He said due to high police alertness and series of encounters with the maoists, major violent incidents were averted.
