NH 44 to be widen into four lanes

Agartala, Jul 15: Tripura's vital artery NH 44, linking some 400 kms stretch between Churaibari bordering Asom in north to Sabroom in south, would be widened into four lanes under Special Accelerated Road Deveopment Programme (SARDA) of the North-Eastern region.

Union Minister for Shipping, Road Transport and National Highway (SRTNH) T R Balu in a letter recently informed that the ministry has approved the Detail Project Report (DPR) for development of the highway for movement of heavy vehicles.

Mr Balu said this while replying to a letter of state Governor Dinesh Nandan Sahaya.
