K'taka Govt to upgrade Kodagu-Kerala link road
Madikeri, Karnataka, July 15 (UNI) The Makutta road, linking the bordering Kodagu district of Karnataka and Kerala, will be upgraded at a cost of 23.5 crore rupees, district in charge Minister Ramachandra Gowda has said.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating a market yard, built by the Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) at a cost of Rs 18 lakhs at Gonicoppal on Thursday, he said the PWD and Finance Ministers would be brought to Kodagu shortly to show the pathetic condition of the road.
Inaugurating a weigh bridge in the market yard, APMC Minister Sharana Basappa Darshanapura said the Government had spent Rs 36.22 crore to build 22 markets in rural areas. Hundred more such markets would be built in the rural areas and 15 crore rupees had been released for the purpose, he added.
