High Tension wires fall on railway track; tragedy averted
Fatehgarh Sahib, July 15 (UNI) A major tragedy was today averted at Mandi Gobindgarh railway station when high tension electricity wires fell on railway track near village Nasrali, due to which train movement was disrupted for nearly four hours.
According to information, high tension wires of 66,000 KV snapped and fell on the railway track at around 0800 hrs this morning.
Alert gatemen, however, noticed it and informed the officers concerned, who reached the spot immediately.
The railway track was immediately closed for traffic till 1100 hrs and later from 1740 hrs to 1840 hrs for maintenance work.
