Gujaratis were the target of Mumbai blasts: Modi

Ahmedabad, July 14 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today alleged that Gujaratis were the main target in Tuesday's serial blasts in Mumbai.

In a letter written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Modi said, the timing and the choice of first class passengers on the Western Railway section in 7/11 blasts suggests the terrorists' target were Gujaratis.

He, in his letter, appealed Dr Singh to ensure early passage of the Gujarat Control of Organised Crime (GUJCOC) Bill, 2003 to effectively deal with terrorism.

Mr Modi also said that Gujarat has been a target of orgnaised crime for quite some time. It being a progressive and at the same time a border state, has witnessed an increase in terrorist and anti-national activities.
