Gold touches an eight-week high, silver rises

Mumbai, July 15 (UNI) Prices of gold rose to an eight-week high while silver, too, rose on fresh demand, according to traders at the Bombay Bullion Association today.

Following are the closing rates of spot silver and gold: Silver (per kg) .999 fineness grade: Rs 18,315 (18,300), Gold (per 10 gm): Gold 99.5 purity standard mint : Rs 10,000 (9,940), Gold 99.9 purity pure gold : Rs 10,050 (9,990).
