Extended working committee meeting of Mah congress on July 22

Mumbai, July 15 (UNI) The extended working committee meeting of the Maharashtra Congress will take place on July 22 to discuss the political situation in the state, organisational matters and prepare the strategy for the forthcoming panchayat samiti, Zilla Parishad and Municipal corporation elections.

Party spokesman Hussain Dalwai said Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, central and state ministers, State unit president Prabha Rau, AICC general secretary Margaret Alva, AICC secretary Siddharth Patel, MLAs,MPs, AICC and MPCC officebearers, former ministers, District congress committee chiefs and heads of all frontal organisations will attend the meeting to be held at Tilak Bhavan, party's state unit headquarters in central Mumbai.

Meanwhile, the state unit has geared up to galvanise its grassroot workers ahead of the crucial local bodies elections to 27 Zilla Parishads and panchayat samitis under its jurisdiction, 167 municipal councils and municipal corporations including Mumbai.

Beginning tommorrow, Ms Rau will hold meetings of party workers and leaders from Aurangabad, Osmanabad, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli, Jalna, Nanded, Latur of Marathwada region at Aurangabad. District and Block committee officebearers, MLAs,MPs and state unit officebearers will be present for the meeting.

She will address the media at 1345 hrs at the party office, Mr Dalwai said.

The district wise meetings of Kolhapur,Konkan,Nashik,Washim, Yavatmal,Amravati, Nagpur, Western Maharashtra will take place at the party's Mumbai office on July 18,19 and 20.

On July 24, Ms Rau will hold district wise meetings of Nagpur rural, Bhandara, Wardha, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia at Nagpur's party office and will also address the media at 1300 hrs, He said.
