BSF launches search operations on Indo-Bangla border

Bongaon, July 15 (UNI) In view of the Mumbai blasts, the Border Security Force launched massive search operations, along the Indo-Bangladesh border, BSF sources said here today.

The BSF has been maintaining strict vigil over the bordering areas and the immigration and customs officials are checking all the corridors.

The BSF has alerted the Indian villagers to inform them if any unknown people were seen.

Special checking points at Petrapol and Ghojadanga in North 24 Parganas have been opened.

The BSF sources said the force have been asked to check all the bordering Railway stations, including Bongaon and Hasnabad and Basirhat in North 24 Parganas.

The BSF are checking the passengers train and buses at different places in the bordering areas. Forces in the Hingalganj and Sundarban areas have been alerted.

Meanwhile, Railway police and Railway Protection Force have already started searching operations at different stations in the entire Sealdah division.

Passengers' belongings, bags, luggages were thoroughly checked to find arms and ammunition or explosives.

However, nothing has been unearthed so far in North 24 Parganas, sources said today.
