BJP distances with Overseas Friends of BJP (US)

New Delhi, July 15 (UNI) The BJP today said it had severed ties with Overseas Friends of BJP (US) in February itself after complaints of ''misusing'' the party's name by some people belonging to this organisation.

Senior BJP leader and incharge of Overseas Friends of the BJP, Kedar Nath Sahni said the organisation was earlier recognised by the parent body but disassociated itself after ''facts'' came to light.

''BJP is not at all in any way connected with this organisation or individuals connected with it or its activites.'' Mr Sahni said reiteration was necessary to clear confusion in the minds of the sympathisers, a release here said.
