Bajaj motorcycle sales rise 34%, exports 95% in Q1

New Delhi, July 15 (UNI) Bajaj Auto today posted a 34 per cent rise in its motorcycle sales at 568,187 units in the first quarter of 2006-07 as against 422,543 units in the corresponding quarter last year.

Company's total sales increased by 28 per cent by 647,094 units in Q1 2006-07 as compared to 505,524 units in Q1 2005-06.

The sales of two-wheelers stood at 576,219 units from 452,213 units, an increase of 27 per cent. Bajaj registered a rise of 33 per cent in the sales of three-wheelers at 70,875 against 53,311.

Company's total exports rose by 95 per cent at 98,263 units in the quarter ending June 30,2006 as compared to 50,493 units in the corresponding period last year.
