Assam Rifles chief calls on Nagaland Chief Minister
Kohima, Jul 15 (UNI) Director General of Assam Rifles (DGAR) Lt. Gen. Paramjit Singh, who recently took over the charge, met Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on his maiden visit to the state.
The DGAR also met Lt.Gen. (Retd) R V Kulkarni, Chairman of the Cease-Fire Monitoring Group (CFMG) to review and discuss the matters on mutual interests.
During his trip, he also tried to acquaint himself with the topography of the region and the para-millitary forces yesterday.
Defence sources today here said Gen Singh, on his arrival at Kohima, was greeted by Maj. Gen. S S Kumar, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (IGAR).
He was then briefed about the prevailing situation and overall scenario of the state.
Lt Gen. Singh returned to Shillong on the same day, the defence sources added.
