Woman assaults husband for adultery and hands over to cops

Karimnagar, Andra Pradesh Jul 14 (UNI) A drunkard husband was assaulted by his wife in public on the charge of adultery and took him to local police station with his hands-tied.

Police said E Ashok, who was employed in Singareni Collieries in Bhupalapally in the district for some time and lost his job for being irregular in duties. As a result he came to his native place Godavarikhani and started harassing his wife Indira to bring more dowry from her parents. The couple has three children. Later, he turned drunkard.

Unable to bear the torture of Ashok, wife went to her parents place. With this Ashok developed illicit relationship with a local woman. Gradually they started living together. Finally one day the news of Ashok's affair reached his wife.

Indira along with her relatives yesterday came to Godavarikhani and questioned her husband. In the melee, they tied his hands and assaulted him in front of public. Later, they took him along the streets of Godavarikhani and handed over him to local police, apart from registering a complaint against him. police added.
