Venus Remedies files its 5th International Patent (PCT)
Mumbai, July 14 (UNI) Venus Remedies today said the IPR (International Patent Registry) wing of the company successfully filed the 5th International Patent Application for the latest antibiotic FDC developed by its R&D wing.
Keeping in view its target of creating IPR wealth for the company, the Indian Patent for this product, titled 'Treatment and Control of severe infections, including Cystis Fibrosis', was filed in May last year.
The R&D wing of the company specializes in the Cephalosporin and oncology segments and has delivered this new antibiotic combination, active against multi-resistant strains of both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and which provides a broad-spectrum coverage of bactericidal activity.
The company is ready to launch the same in the domestic market worth approximately Rs 100 crore in 2007.
Terms have already been finalized with the two parties for the launch of this new FDC in domestic market and negotiations are underway for finalizing the terms of launch in global markets worth USD 500 mn.
