Undertrial killed in police presence by attackers
Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, July 14 (UNI) An undertrial was killed when his rivals attacked him with sickles and swords while he was being taken to Anantapur Jail from Kalyan Durgam Court in the district today.
Hanumanth Rayudu (32), a noted pseudo naxal and contract killer, was taken to the court from Anantapur Jail in connection with a case for extension of remand.
On return to Anantapur by bus, three persons pounced on Rayudu at the bus stand and attacked him with hunting sickles and mercilessly stabbed him n the presence of the police.
The shocked escort constables opened fire injuring two of them while the third managed to flee.
The assailants, Srinivasulu and Sriramulu, were taken to a local hospital. The third attacker had been identified as Ramakrishna.
