Subhash Nagar by-Election to be an acid test: Malhotra
New Delhi, July 14 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Vijay Kumar Malhotra today said the by-elections to Delhi's Subhash Nagar ward will prove to be an acid test for the Congress government's performance.
Mr Malhotra, who has been addressing a series of corner meetings, said people of Delhi wanted change of government and the July 23 bypolls will be a beginning towards achieving that goal.
''The people of Delhi want to get rid of this corrupt and anti-people Congress Government,'' he added Mr Malhotra alleged that under the present Government ''complete anarchy prevailed every where''.
''Though Delhi is the capital of India neither does it have drinking water nor electricity. Due to spiralling prices 90 per cent people have great difficulty in making both ends meet,'' he added.
Coming down heavily on the Congress government, the BJP leader said it lacked direction as well as perspective.
''The law and order situation is God's mercy...
Mr Malhotra was accompanied by Delhi Assembly Leader of the Opposition Jagdish Mukhi and MLAs Harsharan Singh Balli and Ram Bhaj besides Subhash Nagar ward BJP candidate Meera Kanwaria victorious by a big margin.
