State VHP, BJP leaders arrested

Tiruchirapalli, July 14 (UNI) Aa many as 43 activists, including two women, belonging to Sangh Parivar organisations were arrested from the Chinthamani area here this evening for staging demonstration without obtaining prior permission from the police.

The demonstration led by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) State Vice President N R Pandiyan condemned the July 11 serial bomb blasts in Mumbai.

The city police arrested all the 43 activists, including Mr N R Pandiyan, BJP State Secretary Balaji Sivaraj and VHP State General Secretary Gopalarathinam.
