Shoaib to train with Warwickshire
London, July 14 (UNI) Pakistan's tearaway pacer Shoaib Akhtar will train with the Warwickshire county club at Edgbaston as he continues his rehabilitation from an ankle injury, which has ruled him out of the ongoing Test series against England.
''Shoaib will be training at Edgbaston and they will try to arrange a couple of club matches to help him come back from his injury,'' Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan told a website.
Pakistan, already without seamer Mohammad Asif and opening batsman Shoaib Malik, are hoping to get the mercurial pacer fit in time for the later stages of the series and the PCB chief feels the bowler would recover here faster as he will get more practice while training with Warwickshire.
''He is improving quickly but needs match practice and the weather in Pakistan right now is not conducive to him playing there.
It is either too hot or raining. So he will train in England and will be checked up by our medical team over here to see when he is ready to return to the team,'' he said.
