'Sharad Pawar should clarify stand on reservation issue'
Kopargaon, Maharashtra, July 14 (UNI) Maharashtra OBC Parishad president Hanumantrao Upre has urged the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar to clarify his party's stand on the reservation issue.
On the one hand, the NCP issues notices to its senior leader Shalinitai Patil for her comments on the reservation issue and, on the other hand, State Irrigation Minister Ajit Pawar has said Mrs Patil's views are not against the party, Mr Upre said while speaking to reporters here today.
This has created a confusion and Mr Sharad Pawar should clarify on his party's stand, Mr Upre demanded.
Mr Upre was here as part of his public awareness campaign, launched since July 9, to muster support for the reservation for OBCs. The campaign will conclude at Beed on August 4.
Meanwhile, Mr Upre informed that an OBC convention wll be hosted at Shirdi on September 17 and Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has been invited to inaugurate.
