Sensex tumbles 182 pts on crude price escalation

Mumbai, July 14 (UNI) The BSE Sensex today fell almost 200 points as the crude oil prices peaked to an all time high crossing US Dollar 78 per barrel mark.

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) sensitive index (Sensex) is currently trading at 10,672 having recoverd from the lower level after touching a low of 10,563.76.

Also the hike in the interest rate of Bank of Japan by 25 basis points has dented the investors confidence. The issue has seriously impacted the Asian markets performance today, which have all traded in the red today.

Major gainers are TCS, SBI, Reliance Energy, ONGC and NTPC all up between 0.5 to 2.5 per cent.

The losers were - Hindalco, Tata Motors, Grasim Industries, HDFC Bank, Satyam Computers, Ranbasxy, Maruti Udyog, Reliance Communications, Bajaj Auto, and Wipro all down between 1.82 to 3.37 per cent.
