RWAs demand CBI inquiry into DVB privatisation
New Delhi, July 14 (UNI) A day-long convention of all Resident Welfare Associations (RWA) of Delhi today passed a resolution seeking a CBI inquiry into the power privatisation deal.
It also sought the implementation of the PAC committee report on the issue, dismissal of private power companies and the appointment of a Government Administrator until the inquiry findings were made public.
About 250 members of more than 100 RWAs and other civil society groups of the capital attended the session, organised by the NGO People's Action.
Leader of the Opposition Jagdish Mukhi, Abani Roy of the Revolutionary Socialist party and MLA S C Vats were among those who opposed DVB's privatisation.
The meeting also discussed means to strengthen the RWA movement by reaching out to other groups, NGOs and civil society associations, including trade and industry associations and unions.
