Rupee weakens by five paise; closes at Rs 46.37/38/USD

Mumbai, July 14 (UNI) Indian currency today weakened by five paise and closed at Rs 46.37/38/USD as compared to the previous close of Rs 46.32/34/USD, a trader in the money market said.

Earlier Rupee opened at Rs 46.65/68/USD and in the mid-morning session traded at 46.43/44/USD.

The six month forward premia was fixed at 1.00 per cent and the one year premia at 1.15 per cent.

RBI fixed the Reference Rate at Rs 46.43/US Dollar today.

Rupee performance against other currencies was also not very good: Rupee vs Euro was flat at Rs 58.72 (58.72), Rupee vs Pound Sterling was down at Rs 85.40 (85.12) and agaist yen it was up at Rs 40.00 (40.10).
