Regulate Commodity Exchange or close it: BJP
New Delhi, July 14 (UNI) Criticising the centre over no regulation of the Commodity Exchange' a the BJP today demanded the government to either regulate it or close it down.
Addressing a gathering after staging a 'dharna' here to protest the issue, former Union minister M M Joshi said it was because of speculation at the Commodity Exchange that farmers and small traders were committing suicide.
There was no shortage in the country and because of stock holding by multi-nationals, artificial scarcity has been created, he added.
Demanding a White Paper on the issue, former Union Minister Vijay Goel said the government should suspend trading in the market if it was unable to regulate it.
