Police on its toes as hoax bomb calls keep pouring
New Delhi, July 14 (UNI) Bomb calls at three places, including the famous Akshardham Temple in the Capital, kept the police and security agencies on their toes in the last couple of hours.
All of them were later declared 'hoax'.
The call about a bomb being placed at Akashardham temple in East Delhi was received at 0032 hrs and the police along with the search team reached the temple at 0100 hrs, according to temple sources.
''The searches continued for about two hours till 0300 hrs during which nothing was found.'' The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and the sniffer dog team reached the temple and carried out the searches. However, the dogs could not be taken beyond the exhibition hall, said a senior police official.
Another call of a bomb having been placed at PVR Plaza in Connaught Place was received at 0030 hrs.
Two fire tenders along with the BDS and the dog team were pressed into service, but even after more than an hour of search, nothing was found, said the Fire Brigade.
The call this morning was of a bomb planted at the Anand Vihar Bust Terminus in East Delhi, which also was declared a hoax.
However, police refused to confirm having received any such call.
