Police lathi charge ACC factory workers
Nagpur, July 14 (UNI) The unorganised workers of Associated Cement Companies Ltd (ACC), who had been agitating demanding permanent status, were today cane-charged by the police at Chandrapur in Vidarbha.
Police sources said the workers were agitating in front of the main gate of the factory, demanding they be made permanent employees. But their agitation turned violent, leading to stone-throwing at the factory premises.
The factory management immediately called the police, who lathi charged and prevented the agitating labourers. The situation is tense but peaceful. Further details are awaited.
