Pakistani leader, guards injured in Karachi blast
Karachi, July 14: A leading Pakistani Shiite leader and his two guards sustained serious injuries in what police officials suspected a suicide bomb attack here today.
A senior police official Syed Mushtaq Shah suspected it to be a suicide attack but refused to give further details to media in this regard.
The attack took place while Allama Hassan Turrabi was returning to his home in Abbas Town.
All the injured including Turrabi, who is a central leader of the country's religio-political alliance, Mutahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) were immediately shifted to a hospital for medical aid.
Meanwhile, Pakistan's private TV channel quoted another senior police official Tahir Naveed as claiming that two persons including the suicide bomber were also killed in the attack.
