One year imprisonment for five policemen
Tikamgarh, MP, July 14 (UNI) A local court here has sentenced five policemen to one-year imprisonment and fined them Rs 1,000 each for demolishing a shop without permission and beating the shop owner mercilessly.
According to prosecution, Moolchand's sweetmeat shop was razed to the ground in name of encroachment and the shop owner was brutally thrashed on June 18, 1990.
Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) F M Randha, Town Inspector Y S Thakur, Sub-Inspector Sobran Singh, Assistant Sub-Inspector Govind Male were awarded one year imprisonment.
Magistrate (First Class) Sanjay Goyal delivered the verdict on Wednesday evening.
