Notice to Haryana on bail plea of INLD leader

Chandigarh, July 14 (UNI) The Punjab and Haryana High Court today issued notice for August 11 to the Haryana government on a petition filed by Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) state youth wing chief Umed Singh Lohan for grant of regular bail.

Lohan, who contested the last Haryana assembly elect ions in February 2005 from Barwala constituency in Hisar district, is presently lodged in central jail, Hisar in connection with gunning down of a driver of a vehicle that had been hired by the Congress candidate.

The case under section 302,307,341,347,348,349 IPC was registered on February 3,2005 at the police station, Narnaud district Hisar on the complaint of the returned Congress candidate Randheer Singh Dheera , brother of Jai Prakash, the Lok Sabha member from Hisar.

However, it has been contended by the petitioner that he had been implicated in a false case by the complainant due to political rivalry.
