Nasscom for fast track, special courts for cyber crimes

Kolkata, Jul 14 (UNI) Nasscom today called for setting up of fast track and special courts for dealing with cyber crimes.

'' We are recommending setting up of fast track and special courts for dealing with cyber crimes since conviction of criminals is more important than the severity of the punishment,'' Nasscom president Kiran Karnik said.

Karnik said India is safer compared to other countries, where the prevalance of cyber crimes is in dozens every week but we have to expedite conviction to deal with the menace.

The fast track and special courts will help in dealing with the crime, which is specialised in nature, he said.
