Miscreants loot church and desecrate tabernacle

Krishnagar, July 14 (UNI) Miscreants today desecrated a Catholic church at Ranaghat under Ragalpur Police Station and looted money and other articles from it.

During the prayer assembly at five in the morning, Amit Mondal noticed a door wide open and after investigation by Father Jose Pulical, it was found that money was missing from the donation box.

They also found that the Tabernacle was ransacked by the miscreants.

Soon after the incident, Nadia ASP Subroto Mitro visited the site. Some sniffer dogs were also pressed into service and finger prints collected.

Father Jose described the attack as ''inhuman'' and said the Christians were distressed on hearing about the incident.

The local people have condemned the act and demanded punishment of the culprits.
