K'taka govt asked to ensure telecast of Council proceedings
Bangalore, July 14 (UNI) Congress member in the Karnataka Legislative Council V S Ugrappa today demanded an apology from the state government for failing to ensure direct telecast of the Hosue proceedings on Doordarshan.
Raising the issue, he said by beaming only the Assembly proceedings, the government had failed to give importance to the Council and disrespected it.
Endorsing Mr Ugrappa's views, Mr V R Sudarshan (Congress) said when both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha proceedings were telecast live, the same procedure should be adopted by the state too.
He said non telecast of Council proceedings only reflected badly on the government's approach.
Mr Tippanna, who was in the Chair, said the matter would be decided by Officiating Chairman Sachidananda Khot.
