Jammu lawyers indefinite strike enters 17th day
Jammu, July 14 (UNI) The functioning of the High Court and subrodinate courts here remained affected as the lawyers' indefinite strike by the Jammu Bar Association entered 17th day today.
The JBA is demanding transfer of the Srinagar sex-scandal trial to Jammu division or any court outside the state for ensuring 'fair trial' and for providing legal aid to accused to defend themselves.
The secretary Abhinav Sharma said they were on strike to protect the faith of the people in the judicial system and rule of the law.
''We will continue the strike till our demand of transfering the sex scam case from Srinagar to Jammu or any other place for a fair trial is not conceded,'' Mr Sharma said.
