'ISI activist' held in AP capital, two fake passports seized

Hyderabad, July 14 (UNI) The south zone task force today apprehended ISI agent Md Abdul Haleem alias Parvez (32), involved in the Hyderabad conspiracy case of Ikwaan ul Musleem 1993, causing serial bomb blasts in Hyderabad.

Md Parvez who is a resident of Red Hills, and his associates, were held with firearms and explosive devices while they were conspiring to cause serial bomb blasts in Hyderabad, according to an official release.

The police seized two fake Indian passports in the name of Md Abdul Haleem and Syed Javeed.

The south zone task force team, in view of the serial bomb blasts in Mumbai, apprehended Haleem after a tip-off that he was in possession of two fake passports.

On investigation, it was found that in 1993, Md Parvez along with his friends Liayaqath, Afsar and Osman were in Kolkata for training in arms and explosives warfare sponsored by the ISI Dhaka, Bangladesh, called Ikwaan 'Ul' Muslimeen -- an off shot of ISI Pakistan.

On the first fake passport, he stayed in Saudi Arabia from November-2002 to June 2005 and during the vacation in March 2004, he came to India and obtained the other passport.

On interrogation he stated that he had obtained the second passport to leave for UK or the US as he was getting trained in computer networking.

The passport agents who helped in obtaining fake passports, as well as his contacts in UK and US are yet to be investigated.

Md Parvez has been arrested under section 120(b), 124(a), 153(a), 153(b) and sec 3 and 5 of the Explosives substance Act, and sec 25 and 27 of the Arms Act.
