"Indian" aircraft with 90 passengers averts disaster
Kolkata, Jul 14 (UNI) "Indian" aircraft IC-727 on its way from Gaya to Yangoon made an emergency landing at 1320 hours at the Netaji Subash Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) airport today.
The Airbus 320 carrying 90 passengers left Kolkata for Yangoon via Gaya.
Soon after take off from Gaya the crew members detected an abnormality with one of the rear tyres.
The aircraft made a precautionary landing in Kolkata thereby averting a major disaster.
An "Indian" spokeperson said, "Soon after take off from Gaya the pilot spoted the difficulty in the rear tyre. Since adequate facilities for changing the tyre was not there in Gaya and Yangoon airport, the pilot decided to land in Kolkata." The airport authorities said the flight again left for Yangoon at 1600 hours.
