HPCPMT inquiry committee submits its report in the High Court

Shimla, Jul 14 (UNI) A three-member inquiry committee set up to probe irregularities in the Himachal Pradesh Combined Pre-Medical Test (HPCPMT) case today submitted its report in the High Court, indicating that doubts cast by the unsuccessful candidates about possible leakage of the paper were not unfounded.

The court, in its order, sought the views of Himachal Pradesh University Vice-Chancellor on the issue after going through the report.

The inquiry committee was formed on a writ petition filed by Action Committee of the aggrieved students and Parents who alleged that the CPMT paper was leaked and was available for price before the entrance test was held here on May 26.

Selection process to the courses was vitiated as some undeserving non-meritorious candidates by adopting unfair and unscrupulous means, made it to the merit list, the action committee had alleged.

The students had prayed for re-examination since the paper had already been leaked.

The case will come up for hearing on July 18.
