HCL's BPO arm exploring acquisition opportunities
Kolkata, Jul 14 (UNI) The BPO services arm of HCL Technologies Ltd is exploring acquisition opportunities in English speaking countries.
''We are looking at acquiring outsourcing companies in the transaction processing segment in English speaking countries. We are already in talks with some of the players in the BPO transaction processing segment,'' CEO N Ranjit said.
The company recently acquired a BPO company owned by British Telecom in North Ireland. ''Following the acquisition we have two centres in north Ireland and employ around 2,000 people in the country,'' Ranjit said.
The company, having a headcount of 10,500 people and centres in Noida, Chennai and Bangalore, apart from the centre in Kuala Lampur and North Ireland, expects the revenue in the last fiscal to be in the region of USD 160-170 million.
''We are expecting more growth from the transaction processing segment as against the voice based business which currently occupies bulk of the company's business,'' he said.
