HCL Tech for integrating approach towards aerospace industry
New Delhi, July 14 (UNI) HCL Technologies, an Indian multinational IT and product engineering specialist, today said it will be highlighting its integrated approach to the aerospace industry.
''At present 18 per cent of our hi-tech and manufacturing revenue is derived from the aerospace industry. However, given the exciting growth of the Indian aerospace market, and the growing interest in aerospace development offshoring, we anticipate this figure to reach 30 per cent within the next five years,'' HCL's European Engineering and Aerospace division Head Martin Hunt said in a despatch from Farnborough.
HCL is debuting at this year's Farnborough Airshow.
NASSCOM estimates that the market size of the aerospace technology outsourcing market in India to be currently about 150 million dollar, and predicts in the next four years it will reach one billion dollar.
Following a period of consolidation, HCL has developed and been delivering a set of core avionics skills that enable the off-shoring of complete subsystems.
This proven core skill set includes software engineering, hardware engineering, FPGA design and verification, and mechanical design and analysis, Mr Hunt added.
Customers benefiting from the expertise include Boeing, with whom HCL works on the prestigious 787 Dreamliner project along with Boeing's tier 1 suppliers, BAe and Volvo Aero.
