Grasim Q4 net profit up by 40%

New Delhi, July 14 (UNI) Grasim Industries today posted a 39.92 per cent increase in its net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 at Rs 348.8 crore as against Rs 249.28 crore for the corresponding period last year.

The company's total income increased to Rs 2978.99 crore in Q4 FY06 from Rs 2563.52 crore in Q4 FY05, up by 16.20 per cent, a company statement said.

In addition, the company's net profit registered a 18.19 per cent increase in its net profit for the year ended March 31, 2006 at Rs 1040.64 crore as against Rs 880.43 crore for the corresponding period last year.

Total income increased by 9.5 per cent from Rs 9536.88 crore in FY05 to Rs 10444.32 for FY06.

Results of UltraTech Cement Ltd (UTCL), a subsidiary of the company and Narmada Cement Company Ltd (NCCL), a subsidiary of UTCL which were then under merger have been incorporated in the results.
