Festival arrangements made, despite Mumbai blasts
Hyderabad, July 14 (UNI) Even as police are busy hunting for ISI and SIMI operatives and picking up suspicious persons and suspects for questioning in Andhra Pradesh, it did not deter them in making elaborate arrangements for the Bonalu festivities in the twin cities on July 16.
The red alert continues over the State with the presence of police at all railway and bus stations, airports and all other public places, including pilgrims centres and vital installations.
The security was also beefed up at important buildings like Secretariat and Legislative Assembly in city. Security has also been tightened for all ministers and elected representatives like MLAs and other VIPs, in view of the threats from naxalites.
The police are not leaving any stone unturned in maintaining law and order. The round-the-clock vigil is kept at sensitive places to nab the offenders.
Following the Mumbai blasts, the Hyderabad district administration is taking precautions to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival. The administration would issue special identity cards to volunteers to prevent the entry of wrong-doers. Lakhs of devotees were expected to participate in the festival.
The security has also been beefed up at the main Ujjaini Mahankali temple and other Matha temples in Secunderabad.
Likewise, elaborate arrangements were also made in Old City where Ghatam procession in connection with the festival would be taken out on July 16. The procession will be taken out from Sri Kashi Vishwanath Temple at Shalibanda and will pass through Nagula Chinta, Lal Darwaza Crossroad and other localities.
