City court issues NBW against Kirti Azad
New Delhi, July 14 (UNI) A city court today issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against former Lok Sabha MP Kirti Azad for non-appearance in the court despite several notices and summons by it.
After hearing the arguments of both the prosecution and the defence, Patiala House Court metropolitan magistrate Vikas Dhull issued the NBW for December 2, 2006.
According to the Delhi government, which is the complainant in this case, also told the court that certain Tourism Ministry materials and bags were allegedly distributed in the constituency of Gole market where the former cricketer's wife Poonam Azad was contesting for Delhi Assembly elections in 2003.
It also stated that the distribution made out in the constituency contained leaflets and pamphlets printed in favour of the candidate which was pure violation of model code of conduct.
Former Tourism Minister Jagmohan also allegedly appealed in writing to the voters of the Gole market constituency to vote in favour of Mrs Azad.
