BSF jawan electrocuted
Jammu, July 14 (UNI) A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan died of electrocution when he touched a high voltage generator line, which is part of the three-tier fencing along the International Border (IB) in R S Pura area of Jammu sector.
A BSF spokesman told UNI that the incident took place in the early hours today when BSF jawan, Rajesh Hanumant of 129 Battalion, hailing from Maharashtra, was on duty, patrolling at the Bakerpur border post along the barbed wire fencing with other jawans.
Hanumant was electrocuted as he accidently touched the fencing. He cried for help, but died before other jawans could reach the spot. His body was retrieved and shifted to Batallion headquarters.
The Jammu Sector Commander DIG, BSF, G S Virk has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
